Skype For Business provides a Unified Communications platform allowing a business to coordinate its communications across multiple devices and presenting a seamless experience for all. Naturally headsets are a prime human interface device in such scenarios and most major manufacturers have brought out models which have specific controls designed to allow access to Skype For Business functionality. We have chosen a few here to look at and see how they help your operation of Lync.

The first we look at is the Plantronics Blackwire C420 which is a binaural ( two eared – and great for noisy offices or call centres ) headset which, as with most Lync headsets, has a USB connection – plugging straight into your PC. As a headset it is both lighweight and comfortable and delivers crystal clear sound. This Plantronics, Lync Certified headset also has a noise cancelling microphone and neatly can fold flat into a laptop bag making it easy to carry around with you when working remotely.

The Jabra GN 2100 3 in 1 headset is an award winning monaural headset making it more useful for the quieter office. It comes in three wearing styles – the normal over the head style; neckband or earhook. The microphone uses an omni directional tube with great sensitivity.

It would be wrong, of course to mention any headsets without doffing our corporate cap at Sennheiser’s contribution to the world of high quality and superb sound head gear. Just as their acoustoc headsets are considered some of the finest in the world, their business headsets are top of the range. We looked at the Sennheiser DW20 Pro which is a cordless monaural headset which communicates with its base station voa DECT. This means that you have the freedom of a wireless headset with the simplicity of a Lync compatible installation with call control buttons on the headset itself.

There are, of course, many other Lync compatible and Lync certified headsets available on our site here – of course if you need specialised informaton then give us a call on 0844 854 6850 or Get In Touch – we are always happy to help.

It should be noted that Skype For Business has rebranded as Microsoft Skype for Business, the headsets are the same of course – more info here ABOUT SKYPE FOR BUSINESS HEADSETS
